Imagine living in a house that is suspended from a height; not just any height, a height that is of a cliff and right above a water that stretches as far as the eyes can see. If you have a phobia for height, you probably keep freaking out all the hours you spend in this building. But this is not what the Australian couple thought when they requested a house like this be built for them.
This home is known as the cliff house.
The concept was designed and built by Australian prefab home designers, Modscape. It’s design was inspired by the the way barnacles cling to a ship’s hull, and was imagined for the diverse Australian landscape. It’s is a 5-storey house, clinging to the side of a vertical rock face, and hanging just over the beautiful view of the Indian Ocean.
“The home is visualised as a natural extension of the cliff face rather than an addition to the landscape, creating an absolute connection with the ocean.” says Modscape.
The top level car garage serves as the entrance to this home. A staircase and lift situated right in the middle of the building will descend you to the other four levels of the building. After the garage is a living room and dining area with a kitchen close to the dining area. The next level features two bedrooms and a bathroom. The next level is a big master bedroom with a spacious bathroom. While the final level is a spa.
The indoor decoration is kept minimal to accentuate the ocean view. This building is perfect for a couple who intends to start a home.
